These General Terms of Use (hereinafter referred to as "GTU") define the terms of access and use of the site https://coutellerie-ergot.fr (hereinafter referred to as "the Site"), published by La Coutellerie L'Ergot.
By browsing this site, the user fully and completely accepts these GTU.
- Site presentation
The site https://coutellerie-ergot.fr is published by Coutellerie l’Ergot, a company registered in France (see attachment 1), specializing in the manufacture and sale of high-end, customizable, 3D-printed knives.

Purpose
These General Terms of Use govern access to and use of the site, whether for consultation, ordering products, or interacting with our customer service.

Intellectual property
All elements present on the site (texts, visuals, photos, videos, logos, knife models, technical descriptions) are the exclusive property of Coutellerie l’Ergot.
- Products
Our knives are carefully assembled on demand in France. Each product is presented with a precise description, including materials, dimensions, uses, and care recommendations.
Customization options (engravings on the blade or handle) are offered.
The photos presented on the site are not contractual.
Due to the artisanal nature of the manufacturing, each knife may have slight variations in appearance, color, or finish compared to the displayed visuals.
These differences are part of the uniqueness of our products. - Orders & payments
Orders are placed online via a secure interface.
Accepted payments are: credit card and PayPal.
The customer receives a confirmation email once the order is validated. - Delivery
Our knives are made to order, in limited series.
Depending on the time of your order, the manufacturing time may vary from 5 days to a maximum of 12 weeks, depending on the current production cycle.
Once manufactured, the knife is shipped within 2 to 5 business days, with a tracking number sent by email.
The maximum legal delivery time is 90 calendar days unless otherwise stated.
By confirming your order, you explicitly accept this extended production time. - Right of withdrawal
In accordance with the legislation, you have a period of 14 days after receipt to exercise your right of withdrawal, except in the case of personalized products (engraving, specific options), which are not returnable.
- Warranty
In accordance with articles L217-3 to L217-20 of the Consumer Code, all our knives are entitled to the legal guarantee of conformity for 2 years from the receipt of the product.
This warranty covers any defect existing at the time of delivery (even if it appears later).
It applies independently of any commercial warranty.
We offer an additional 5-year commercial warranty against manufacturing defects.
This warranty excludes:
– l’usure normale liée à l’utilisation,
– les dommages causés par un usage inapproprié, un mauvais entretien, une chute ou un choc,
– l’altération due à un passage en lave-vaisselle ou à un mauvais stockage. - Responsible use
The knives sold on this site are sharp tools, intended for domestic, culinary, or collectible use.
They may pose a risk if misused.
The user agrees to use them in compliance with safety instructions and French legislation.⚠️ Use prohibited for minors
In accordance with Article L. 313-3 of the Internal Security Code, the sale of knives to minors is prohibited.
By ordering on this site, you certify that you are over 18 years old.⚠️ Carrying and transporting in public
According to Article R. 315-8 of the Internal Security Code, carrying and transporting a knife (even if not classified as a weapon) is prohibited in public without legitimate reason.This concerns:
- public roads,
- public transport,
- public places.
A legitimate reason may be:
- the transport of the knife for a professional activity (chef, craftsman, etc.),
- for a sporting or leisure use (hunting, fishing, camping),
provided it is justified in case of inspection.
Outside of these cases, the knife must be stored in a sheath and not immediately accessible (closed bag, car trunk, etc.).⚠️ User responsibility
The user is solely responsible for the use they make of the knife.
Coutellerie L’Ergot cannot be held responsible in case of violation of the current regulations, or inappropriate or dangerous use of the product. - Personal data
The data collected during navigation or purchase is used only for order processing, customer service, and loyalty purposes. They are neither resold nor shared with third parties without consent.
The data collected on the site (name, email, address, order history) is used only for the processing of your purchases, customer management and, if you have consented, for commercial information purposes.
In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, delete, and oppose your data.

La Coutellerie L’Ergot cannot be held responsible for inappropriate use of the products or for delivery delays attributable to the carrier.
- Modifications
La Coutellerie L’Ergot reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time.

- Customer account & personal space
Account creation: the customer can create an account to access their order history.
They are responsible for the confidentiality of their credentials.
